F.A.Q.s

Products

Q: What are your products made of?

A: Hoodies and most shirts are 50/50 polyester-cotton: Super soft, durable, won't shrink like traditional cotton, and holds it's color longer.  Fine jersey shirts made of 100% cotton.

Q: How do they fit?

A: The shirts are Athletic Fit so they run small, when in doubt: order the next size up. If a shirt was laid flat and measured from underarm to underarm across the chest:

AA Unisex 50/50 Poly-Cotton Shirts

Royal Unisex 50/50 Poly-Cotton Shirts (Rochester Crest, Helvetica, and Autumn)

AA Womens 50/50 Poly-Cotton Shirts

  • Small: 15.25" wide
  • Medium: 16.25" wide
  • Large: 16.75" wide
  • X-Large: 17" wide

AA Womens Fine Jersey 100% Cotton Shirts (Young Lion Of The West Ghost Edition)

  • Small: 15.25" (14.25" after wash) wide
  • Medium: 16.375" (15.75" after wash) wide
  • Large: 17.375" (16.75" after wash) wide
  • X-Large: 18.125" (17.25" after wash) wide
  • Womens Size Specs

All measurements are approximate, there may be slight variations between pieces of the same size.

Q: What is the best way to keep my shirt looking as good as possible?

A: Turn inside out when preparing laundry, wash in cold water with like material, DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER, and hang dry.  Hang-drying will stretch the fit a little bit, while throwing the shirt in the dryer will shrink it a little bit.

Q: Are you sold in stores?

A: Nope, Transit Apparel is only available on our website and Rochester area festivals like the Lilac Festival, Park Ave. Fest, and Artist Row.

Q: (For Series One and Five) I don't see my neighborhood/area/community!?

A: I am working hard to represent all of Rochester's many diverse neighborhoods and communities, and for Series One I am representing neighborhoods that would have had the most direct use of the old subway system.  Regrettably, popular neighborhoods like 19th Ward, Highland, Strong, Beechwood, NOTA, and others weren't close enough to the old route for me to connect a subway stop to.

However, I have not forgotten those neighborhoods I left out and have plans to represent them in t-shirts in the near future.  As I sell through existing series I use those funds towards investing in the next group, and as word spreads to Rochesterians as to what Transit Apparel is about, I hope to be able to release new series soon.

Q: Are you affiliated with an organization or advocacy group?

A: At the moment no.  I wanted to start Transit Apparel to promote Rochester pride culture and history.  My sights are set high to get more involved within the community, but for now I'm focusing on making Transit Apparel successful so I have more to contribute in the future!

Q: I don't see the size I want available, when will it be back in stock?

A: Each shirt is limited run, so when a particular size isn't shown, it's no longer available and won't be reprinted.  Printing limited runs helps add to the value and exclusivity of our shirts, so if you see a shirt you like, don't hesitate as it might not be available in the future.

Ordering And Shipping

Q: I love it! I want it! How do I get it?

A: Awesome! You've made it this far, it only takes a little bit more: stop by the Products page and click on the shirt and size you'd like to have.  Once you've picked your selection you'll be re-directed to Paypal to complete your order.  Setting up accounts in Paypal are super easy and they're walk you through it if you don't already have one.  You'll get a confirmation email right after you've made your purchase, and once I receive the order I'll process shipping according to the day and time of the order.

Q: When will I get my stuff?

A: As soon as possible.  All orders placed up until 8pm EST will ship on the next business day, Monday through Friday.  Any orders placed afterwards will be considered part of the next days orders.

Q: How will I get my stuff?

A: I use USPS in keeping with the American made philosophy of Transit Apparel.  Each order includes a tracking number that I will provide to you once I've shipped your items.  With everything being limited run I really don't want to see anything 'get lost in the mail.'

Q: Have a question that you can't find the answer to?

A: Send me a message on the Contact page and I'll get back to you as soon as possible to try and help.
